NILDA LUZ
Nilda Luz Pinto Miranda, a visual artist, writer and researcher in the gastronomic field, was born in the city of São Paulo in 1936. In a long career interacting with art in its various forms, she participated in countless Official Art Salons and other collective and individual exhibitions in Brazil and abroad during the 1980s and 1990s. During this time, she became part of the artistic collection of several collectors and entities.
With strong lines, he portrayed his hometown in the exhibition “Olhar São Paulo”, presented in 2002 at the Gallery of the Júlio Prestes Cultural Complex of the Secretariat of Culture of the State of São Paulo; at the City Council of São Paulo and also at the Memorial da América Latina. In 2004, with the title "São Paulo no Planalto", his work was exhibited in Brasília at the Sala Guimarães Rosa of the Cultural Complex of the Ministry of Culture. Later, maintaining the theme, his new collection "Amor e Viver São Paulo" remained throughout 2018, exhibited at the Museu Anchieta do Pateo do Collegio, the birthplace of the capital of São Paulo.
Nilda Luz, as a writer and cultural director of ABRESI - Brazilian Association of Gastronomy, Hospitality and Tourism, actively participated in the project that led the capital of São Paulo in 1997 to be awarded the title “São Paulo, World Capital of Gastronomy”, alongside 40 countries that made up the table of nations.

Her book, “Volta ao Mundo da Gastronomia na Cidade de São Paulo” (Around the World of Gastronomy in the City of São Paulo), launched at the time by this entity, was awarded by the Royal Spanish Academy of Gastronomy. In 2007, she published the book “Brasil - Turismo Gastronômico” (Brazil - Gastronomic Tourism), and in 2014 her book “BRASIL – Campeão de Copa e Cozinha” (BRAZIL – Champion of the Cup and Cuisine) highlights the richness of tourism and gastronomy in our country. Later, this book was awarded the “Prix Litterature Gasronomique 2016” by the Brazilian Academy of Gastronomy, highlighting the versatile work of this sensitive artist and writer.
With all this, Nilda Luz, a sensitive and passionate citizen, has been carrying out significant work where she demonstrates herself to be a dynamic and active woman who lives in contemporary reality committed to her ideals.
